Welcome to Basic Training, Driver! You're about to jump in that amazing Toyota Tacoma truck and navigate curves, turns, and even crowd stands in a high-powered, well-oiled machine! Well, you don't want to crash it on your first time around the track! Perhaps reading a few of our tips will help you get out of the starting block, and on your way to Adrenaline history!
Tips for the Game
- Each race starts with a red light that cycles to green, and then you're off! (Use that Up Arrow to get started.)
- When approaching a curve, decrease your speed by letting up on the Up Arrow. The closer together the curve markers are, the tighter the curve will be. Also, keep your eyes on the map display to know when those curves will come.
- If you apply the brake (Down Arrow) while you're turning, it will cause the handbrake to engage. In the same way that Hollywood cars can do the 180 degree turn on a dime, your Tacoma will suddenly be facing the opposite direction when you first start to employ the handbrake at high speeds. This brake turning takes some practice to use. It's a matter of learning to execute tight turns at higher speeds with just a little brake to achieve the perfect turn.
- When you're stuck facing the wrong direction, you're clueless as to where you are, and you don't know what happened to the track, use the spacebar! It is like a race "reset" key and will put you back on track facing the correct direction.
- Note: When you use the spacebar, you are going to start from a dead stop, so you may lose a little time having to accelerate. However, you'll be back in the race and heading the correct direction!
- Pick up the adrenaline bags! They're good for serious bonus points. It takes some skill to drive the correct line to pick all of them up.
- Look for a special shortcut halfway through the track!
