Step 1: Importing mission files
Click Start.
Click Programs.
Click Microsoft Games.
Click Combat Flight Simulator 2.
Click Mission Builder.
The Mission Builder main screen appears.
Click the Load Mission icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Click the Browse button at the bottom of the screen.
Click the drop-down list-box next to Look In.
Click the appropriate Hard Drive where your Program Files are installed (usually C:).
Double-click Program Files.
Double-click Microsoft Games.
Double-click Combat Flight Simulator.
Double-click Missions.
Select the mission you wish to import.
For example: bfe_s1_us.mis
Click Open.
The description of the mission you are importing appears in the Load Mission window.
Click OK.
At this point the mission file is loaded, along with the scenery, objects, and aircraft used in that mission. If you are missing any of the necessary scenery files, objects, or aircraft you will receive an error message. Click OK, and a static A6M2 Zero is substituted for the missing object.
Click the New Front Line icon at the top of the screen.
Place the front line at an appropriate point between the start of the mission and the mission goals.
All objects on the same side of the front line as your starting base are considered friendly; all objects on the opposite side are considered hostile.
To place the front line, click on the point between your base and the target/goal that you would like the front line to pass through.
Click on a second point, between your base and the target/goal, that you would like the front line to pass through.
The front line will extend between the two points in a straight line and continue across the map.
Right-click the mouse once when you are satisfied with the position of the front line; this accepts the final setting.
You may place as many points along the front line to alter its shape as you see fit. The front line does not have to be a straight across the entire map.
Click the Save Mission icon at the top of the screen.
Erase everything on the File Name line except the file name.
For example, if the file name reads:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\missions\bfe_s1_us.mis
Then change it to:
bfe_s1_us.mis
Click OK.
Exit the Mission Builder.
Step 2:Test the mission.
Click Start.
Click Programs.
Click Microsoft Games.
Click Combat Flight Simulator 2.
The main Combat Flight Simulator 2 screen appears.
Click Single Missions.
Your imported mission should be listed along with the existing CFS 2 missions.
Select the mission you imported and fly it.
Due to the differences in CFS 1 and CFS 2, some mission components may not function optimally. We recommend that you fly the mission several times to verify that it functions satisfactorily. Most imperfections can be corrected via the Mission Builder.
