Right-click Scenery.cfg. Click Edit. This opens the contents of the scenery.cfg file in a text editing application such as Microsoft® Notebook. Scroll down to the bottom of the document and place the cursor at the end of the last line of text. Take note of which [Area] is the last, for example [Area.013]. Press the Enter key two times. From the window menu, click Edit. Click Paste. The contents of the first scenery.cfg file appear in the space below the existing information. Scroll up to the last original entry in the file. This is the one that you took note of earlier. We used [Area.013] in our previous example. Delete the first three lines of the new area of text. These lines should read: [GENERAL] Cache_Size=50M Clean_on_Exit=TRUE Delete the [Area.001] through [Area.003] entries from the new entries. NOTE: THE FOLLOWING CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE ONLY TO THE NEW ENTRIES IN THE FILE, NOT THE ORIGINAL ENTRIES. Starting with the first new entry in the file: Change the [Area] number of the entry after the last original entry so it is one digit higher then the previous entry on the page. For example, if the first new entry in the file were: [Area.001] Texture_ID=1 Group=World Scenery ID=world Title=World Scenery Active=TRUE Layer=1 GroupID=1 Local=scenedb\world And the last original entry in the file was: [Area.013] Title=chicago Local=..\FS2000\scenedb\cities\chicago Remote= Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=13 Then you would change [Area.001] to read [Area.014]. Change the Layer number to match the [Area] number. For example, if the [Area] were [Area.014] then the Layer would be Layer=14. If the last line in the entry starts with Local=: Change the word Local= to Remote=. Insert C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 2000\ between Remote= and any other text on that line. If you have installed Flight Simulator 2000 to a non-standard directory, substitute that directory instead. For example, the original line may read: Local=scenedb\world So the finished line will read: Remote=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 2000\ scenedb\world If the last line of the entry starts with Remote=, then do not alter that line. Repeat until all entries have been updated. When finished all new entries should be in sequence with the original entries, and each entry's layer should match its number. Scroll to the top of the document. Change the line that reads: Clean_on_Exit=TRUE to Clean_on_Exit=FALSE From the window menu, click File. Click Save. Click File. Click Exit. Step 9:Test your changes. Launch Combat Flight Simulator 2 and verify that you can use the new scenery. Use the Free Flight option to see the Flight Simulator 2000 airfields listed in the Start Location/Go To Location dialog. |
