When: First event runs on January 6th, 2001 at 1pm PST. See below for complete event schedule.
Where: Special Events, USAFR Killer Canyons.
Chapter two of the Chaos Race unfolds in the form of some pretty tricky terrain! As if racing against scores of trigger-happy Fighter Ace pilots weren't hard enough, now try doing it through dangerously narrow canyon! Diving down for speed is a great idea, but the lower you get, the more the walls close in around you as the canyon narrows. Adding to that, the playing field is leveled?only one plane will fly: the mighty Mosquito (with all the nasty cannons on the nose).
Objective
Line up behind the yellow lines on any of the five airfields (they're all linked together and operate as one big field). Once the host gives the GO, take off; proceed around the course COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, and finish by crossing the red-checkered line (you can't miss it). And of course, try not to get shot down in the process.
There is another set of airfields roughly halfway through the course; it is highly recommended that you stop there to refuel, because you probably won't make it all the way around on one tank.
Rules and Settings
- Flight physics are intermediate
- Cockpit view only (once your wheels leave the ground)
- Guns HOT
- Firing on other racers is allowed (and encouraged)
- 2 lives
- You will spawn on the runway. Do not take off until the Host gives the GO signal.
- The ONLY plane available is the British Mosquito!
Winners
The winners are the first three pilots to cross the red-checkered finish line. The pilot that finishes first will receive a prize and a place in the finals. 2nd and 3rd place finishers will also be placed in the Finals!
In the event of a tie for any position, a Deathmatch will be held between the tied competitors with the victor taking the contested finishing rank. The others (in the case of a three-way tie) will be placed behind the victor respectively. A tie is determined by the host via film playback. The Host's judgment will be final in all situations.
Example: If three pilots tie for 2nd place, the three will enter a Deathmatch. The first pilot to be shot down will take 4th place overall, the next pilot 3rd, with the victor being granted the 2nd place spot.
