The first run of the Fighter Ace League was a huge success and player demand has been building for several months.
This is a weekly competition combining the fun of a bowling or basketball league with the incomparable thrill of aerial combat. You and your Fighter Ace mates can take on other team's players for ultimate bragging rights on the Zone. Winning a single day competition is one thing, but leagues put the team concept to the test. Who can assemble the best team and keep it vital and functioning throughout the grueling schedule? Only highly motivated winners can maintain these kinds of consistent performances. Leagues reward traits other than absolute brilliance in flying because consistency is the key. It is far more important to have 8 players show consistently than it is to have 4 brilliant players that only make it for 3 matches.
Teams
Top Squad League will feature teams of 8 (with 4 alternates). These teams will compete in a 6-week regular season followed by a week of playoffs to determine the individual league champions. These champions will face off in the Finals in December.
Time
The Top Squad League matches will take place every Sunday, starting at noon PST and ending around 3 p.m. PST.
Length of Match
The Matches are timed 15 minutes competitions with the provision for an additional 5-minute overtime in case of a tie. There are no boundaries or height limits but fuel and ammo limits will keep competitors from running off the map. The team with the most points after 15 minutes wins.
Scoring
Enemy Kill: 1 Point
Collision: -1 Point
Crashes: -1/2 Point
Friendly Fire Kill: -1 Point
As an additional plus, there will be an Open Country Selection, which means that two teams competing against each other can both fly GB. However, there will be no mixing and matching planes from different countries.
