13 new aircraft have been added to the Fighter Ace arsenal, which brings the total number of player flyable planes to a whopping 59! VI SU The Bell P39Q Airacobra The Lavochkin LAGG-3 The Yakovlev Yak-1b 2 new Maps! English Channel: A geographically correct layout of the English Channel! Events Map: Fresh from the twisted minds of the Fighter Ace Team comes this completely fictional terrain layout. 10,000 foot spires, a nail biting Canyon, even a Death Bowl with walls so high you'll pass out before you can climb over them! Overall Updates The following updates and changes will apply regardless of the country or aircraft you are flying. Alt Tabbing: Work has been completed that will help close some of the cheat loopholes that have been used. Advanced Flight Model: Stall characteristics in the Advanced arena have been made more accurate. In addition, opposite rudder spin recovery is now more realistic. Rockets: Rocket trajectories have been brought to a level that is more consistent with the level of technology of the era. In addition, rockets that explode in the air are less likely to do significant damage. Parachutes: The altitude at which a parachute is set to automatically open has been lowered considerably. Bombardier view: When switching from the map view to forward view, the bombsite will no longer revert back to the old type. Country Specific Updates Germany Heavy Machine Guns: The power of the 13mm machinegun has been adjusted to more accurately reflect its historical strength. FW190A-4: Overall performance brought more in line with historical performance. Additional flap settings (0 - 15 - 30 - 45 degrees) and a new paint scheme. FW190A-8 Overall performance brought more in line with historical performance. Available WEP time is now 4 ten-minute sessions. Additional flap settings (0 - 15 - 30 - 45 degrees) FW190D-9 Overall performance brought more in line with historical performance. Available WEP time is now 4 ten-minute sessions. Japan N1K2 George Historically, the George was equipped with a highly advanced automatic flap system. The flaps automatically deployed based on the aircraft's speed. While you will still be able to manually control the flaps, they will automatically deploy and retract based on speed and your turn rate (for example; if you roll your plane and pull back hard on the stick, your flaps will deploy. Once you level back out, they will retract). Additionally, the maximum bomb load has been increased to 4 500lb bombs. Ki-67 Peggy The cones of fire for the nose and upper turret gunners have been adjusted to more accurately represent the historic field of fire. Ho5 20mm cannon This cannons hitting power has been adjusted in order to more accurately reflect its historical damage capability. United States P47 The dive speed has been slightly increased Heavy Machine Guns: The power of the .50cal machinegun has been adjusted to more accurately reflect its historical strength. |
