This is it! This is your chance to chat LIVE with Robert Goebel, author of Mustang Ace, and leading ACE of the 31st Fighter Group based in Italy during WWII.
Lt. Goebel flew several different aircraft during the war, including the P51B and P51D Mustangs, Spitfires, and P39 Airacobra. Lt. Colonel Goebel has 11 confirmed kills to his credit, three of them in one flight!
Bang! The aircraft shuddered. I broke right by reflex. After I went to full power, I sneaked a peek back. Sure enough, there were two 109's coming hard, the typical black smoke from the 109's water-injection system pouring out of their exhaust stacks

Robert Goebel - Mustang Ace
Following the war, he even went on to contact and develop friendships with some of his former adversaries! After earning his degree in physics, he flew full time with the National Guard, he then returned to active duty just prior to the Korean War. Mr. Goebel has experience in a variety of exciting fields, from working with NASA on the Gemini launch vehicle, to projects such as the Skylab Space Station!
