Gamers of all sorts like to fool around with the tools that were used to create their favorite games. Add-ons, level editors, paint kits, all of these have been issued for various game titles, and they attract a huge following of serious gamers who simply want to find even more ways to enjoy the game. Now, Flight Simulator 98 is releasing the first part of its Software Development Kit (or SDK) so hackers and mechanics can get a peek into the FS98 engine.
These tools are for the experienced software developer familiar with C++ programming. The first part of the SDK allows you to build and modify fully functional instrument panels. The kit comes complete with source code and a programming reference to help you build the panel. Future installments of the SDK will cover scenery and multiplayer elements.
