General Tips
- Once your first couple of buildings are completed at your base, send your forces out to confront the enemy -- you'll need the command points earned in these first confrontations to build up your ground forces.
- Take over every building that you find -- this will earn you an initial command point boost, as well as command point bonuses every few seconds just for holding the structure.
- If holding a particular structure is critical, maintain the strength of beleaguered garrisons by replacing them with fresh troops whenever needed.
- Use medium-strength, low-to-medium-cost units as loss-leaders in a first-wave attack against the enemy to distract them, and then immediately follow that loss-leader with the full brunt of your forces. The longer your loss-leader can hold out, the more time your main force has to inflict damage on the enemy.
- Create stun teams by grouping two or three sets of troopers and activating their secondary stun weapons. Put them right behind your armored forces. If your armor stumbles into enemy heavy infantry, assign one stun team after another to attack the enemy troops. Once the enemy is stunned, pick them off with your armor.
- At the end of each campaign, spend ALL of your command points on as many units as you can build. These units will carry over to the next campaign, while any remaining command points will not.
Tips for Rebel Officers
The forces of the Rebellion are not as powerful as those of the Empire, but they are more technologically advanced, using shields on most of their vehicles. For the most part you will not want to stand toe-to-toe with the Empire's heavily armored units, but will instead want to employ guerrilla tactics to whittle away at the enemy's strength until they're weak enough to wipe them out wholesale.
- Build a Technology Center as soon as you can and research all of the available upgrades. Your units in the field will thank you.
- Using Infiltrators (commandos) to take AT-ATs and AT-STs can be tricky, and at times impossible. It is often more effective and profitable to use Infiltrators for taking buildings.
- Take advantage of your vehicles' shields by striking the enemy, retreating, recharging your shields and striking again, thereby weakening the enemy and allowing you to . . .
- Set up ambushes by using a small number of units to draw the Empire into your larger force. This larger force should consist of a front line of heavy armor, backed up by lighter anti-infantry vehicles, and followed by a mix of light and heavy infantry. Let the armor engage the enemy first, then sweep in with heavy infantry to take on enemy armored units. Use anti-infantry vehicles to pick off marauding troopers.
- If the enemy deploys a TR-SD (Tracked-Shield Disabler), concentrate your efforts on eliminating this vehicle first, or your armor is toast.
- When moving to attack an Imperial base, take plenty of artillery with you. Their punch will save a lot of time in bringing down enemy buildings. Protect them, however, because they are weakly armored and expensive to replace.
- Deploy a few Yutrane-Tackata Hovertanks with your forces. These will give you a nice mixture of anti-infantry and anti-air protection. When Imperial bombers arrive, make sure these fast tanks concentrate their efforts on bringing the TIEs down.
- Protect your base with a good mixture of anti-armor and anti-infantry turrets. If possible, keep a contingent of infantry and light armor near the base for surgical strikes against invading Imperial forces.
- Deploy repair droids. Fixing damaged vehicles is costly, but not nearly as costly as replacing them altogether.
