One of the hottest new golf stars featured in Links 2001 is Sergio Garcia, considered to be one of the most talented young players around. Sergio was kind enough to lend his famous swing to the game, adding to the already impressive roster of talent including Annika Sorenstam, and, of course, Arnold Palmer.
Sergio made his first cut in a European Tour event at the age of 14 and caught the attention of the press in both Europe and the United States. Having recently turned pro, he had a sensational rookie year in 1999. Sergio happens to be an avid fan of video games, and by all accounts he had a great time working with the Links 2001 team, and they with him.
If you aren't yet familiar with Sergio, you'll recognize him on the Links 2001 box, and on the splash screen that opens when you start the game. You can also read more about him at the pgatour.com website and see videos of Sergio and the Links 2001 team working on the motion capture you'll see in the game.
Try a round of golf and set the computer player as Sergio and see how you fair against this formidable new opponent in the PGA.
