What is the Zone's Member Plus Program?
The Zone's Member Plus program is the best community program on the best gaming site on the Web!
Member Plus is the Zone's premier community program committed to ensuring that the Zone is all about you -- the expert community members that make up the heart and soul of this thriving gaming community. Member Pluses help to:
- Create a positive environment in all Zone chats.
- Help fellow users with everyday gaming and technical questions.
- Enrich their affiliated Committees (Member Plus committees tailored to specific areas of interest).
- Assist Zone members in finding the information they need.
- Encourage others to have as much fun as they possibly can by setting positive community examples and by sharing their dynamic personalities with other Zone members.
Member Pluses are "the voice" of the Zone community and through their participation, they make a visit to the Zone a phenomenal and unique experience.
What are Member Plus Committees? How do these Committees fit into the Member Plus structure?
The Member Plus program is comprised of four Committees:
- Help Room Committee -- Dedicated to assisting users in the Help Room and "problem solving" on the Zone.
- Technical Room Committee -- Dedicated to assisting users in the Technical Room and technical "problem solving" on the Zone.
- Game Specific Committee -- Dedicated to fielding game-specific user questions.
- Tournament Committee -- Dedicated to help users create and monitor "Level D" or user-created tournaments.
These four Committees are autonomous entities that focus on specialty areas within the Zone. Member Pluses should affiliate with at least one Committee and cannot affiliate with more than two. You can choose which Committees you would like to be affiliated with when you complete the Member Plus orientation in our
Member Plus Community
.
What are the differences between the Sysop, Z-Technical, Host, Gaming/Strike Team, and Host programs and the new Member Plus program?
In response to the explosive growth of the Zone's community, and the recognized success of the Sysop, ZTech, Gaming/Strike Team, and Host programs, the Zone "upped the ante" on community evolution and is committed to further nurturing and growing the Zone's dynamic community programs by leaps and bounds.
In order to bring the community experience to the next level of interaction, improve all users' experience on the Zone, and better focus our attention on our community members' needs, the new Member Plus program will unite the Sysop, ZTech, Host, Gaming/Strike Team programs under the Member Plus umbrella.
This unification of groups into one Member Plus group will not only ensure that all Zone Member Pluses are offered the same opportunities, but it will also ensure that the Zone's member efforts are allied in order to better create a positive Zone experience for everyone.
If I was a Sysop, ZTechnical, Host, or Gaming Team/Strike Team member, how does the introduction of this new Member Plus program affect me? What happens to me?
If you were a Sysop, ZTechnical, Host, or Gaming Team/Strike Team member, you will be will be given the first opportunity to opt into our new Member Plus program! What this means is:
- ZTeam members will enter the Member Plus program at a level which will be familiar to them.
- All Member Plus nicknames will be distinguished by the “+” symbol.
All Member Pluses will have the opportunity to choose which of the four Member Plus program Committees they would like to be affiliated with. These Committees are as follows:
- Help Room Committee
- Technical Room Committee
- Game Specific Committee
- Tournament Committee
You may choose to belong to a maximum of two Committees.
What are the benefits of becoming a Zone Member Plus?
There are many benefits to becoming a Member Plus:
- You will have an active role in helping to establish the Zone as the best gaming community on the Web.
- You will be a founding member of the Web's most vibrant and groundbreaking gaming community.
- You will foster new friendships.
- You will be given the opportunity to share your gaming, technical, and diplomatic expertise for the benefit of fellow users.
We are committed to this program's success and most importantly, to your gaming enjoyment, community needs, and participation.
How do I become a Member Plus?
If you are a current ZTeam member:
- All ZTeam members are enthusiastically invited to join Member Plus as soon as possible. In order to do so, please visit our
Member Plus Community
.
- In our community, we'll ask you to read some orientation material about your new privileges and how to use them.
- Send us an e-mail at the address listed at the end of the orientation material including your name, Zone name, desired Committee affiliation(s) and preferred e-mail address.
- In addition, we'll be holding several optional Q&A sessions where you can get answers to questions you may have about your new privileges.
- That's it! Once we receive your e-mail, you will be a Member Plus and can begin interaction with your selected Committees!
If you are not a current ZTeam member and are interested in becoming a Member Plus:
- We will begin to accept new Member Plus members in the next few months. Please feel free to read our orientation material and sign up for the Members Plus program and the Committee(s) you would like to be affiliated with.
- Once we have openings in the program, you will be inducted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Do I need any special skills to become a Member Plus?
All you need to become a Member Plus is a love of gaming, the desire to lend a helping hand, and the wish to help make the Zone the greatest gaming community on the Web.
Remember -- the Member Plus community is for everyone. Regardless of your background, skill level, or gaming experience, the Member Plus program is for you. Furthermore, the Member Plus program allows you to choose whatever Committee you will feel most comfortable in and what your areas of interest are -- be it general help, technical help, specific games, or tournaments.
What is the time commitment for being a Member Plus?
There is no specified time commitment for being a Member Plus. Spend as much or as little time as you like. Your level of involvement depends entirely on you!
