Race the Los Angeles Coliseum track for the Toyota Tundra!

Our track-building veteran, Yeastman, has created a beautiful recreation of the Los Angeles Coliseum. This is the track that all us trucking fans need to win on if we wish to drive home in the 1999 Toyota Tundra truck. The track (as well as the truck) is a beautiful sight to behold. The track lulls you into a false sense of security as if it is easy to drive. When I first checked it out with a quick solo run, I was thinking 'Okay, not too shabby!' It wasn't until I got a few of my big-wheel truckin' fans to join me in some multiplay that the track reared its diabolical horns!

Right after the third checkpoint, the track gets tricky. It gives you plenty of space to keep your foot planted firmly on the accelerator while swinging through the right-hander, but then suddenly the track twists to the left. You rush over to get back on the racing line, while squeezing the brake, and suddenly find yourself taking the following set of jumps sideways. You lose some serious speed in the progress or, even worse, ending up behind the track walls and giving up some valuable time (and probably the Toyota Tundra truck).

The section of track between the seventh and eighth checkpoints is very sneaky when racing with a full crew (as you'll be doing in the Tournament). There is a sweeping banked right-hander, which looks like a jump. You need to turn carefully. If you are on the outside of the pack, chances are you'll get punted over the embankment. As you race around this turn, you need to set yourself up for the final hairpin and for checkpoint eight, which is the Start/Finish line.

Toyota Tundra Truck setup will be crucial, as not only is quick acceleration a screaming need coming out of one of the several tight turns, but then you'll need the top end speed along the two long straightaways that take you out and back into the L.A landmark. Next, it's easy to find yourself on the outside of the pack coming into one of the tight turns and then have a competitor slam you into the wall while you try to get across the track. ('Sorry, just one of those racing things!' the driver yelled as my chassis was shot into the wall.) Try a moderate-to-high speed setting and be very aware of the other drivers around you. The slightest bumps can set you off in the wrong direction and also lose you serious time.

See you at the finish line. I'll be the one with the trophy in my arms. - By Big Tread
