Ever get stuck depending on a power station that's not giving you enough power? There are a few basic rules for getting the most power from each Urban Assault power station that you occupy.
Basic energy rules:
You need to be over a claimed power station to claim energy.
Your power station needs claimed sectors directly around it in order to claim energy for you.
The weaker the power station you have, the fewer sectors it needs in order to achieve maximum energy intake.
The stronger the power station you have, the faster you take in energy when you achieve maximum intake.
Fine, but now it can get tricky. If you know you should be getting energy faster than your current rate, you could have one or more of the following problems. Ask yourself the following questions:
Do you have the power station surrounded with enough claimed sectors?
The stronger the power station, the more sectors you need to support it. Just claiming the sectors touching the power station is not always enough. You may simply need more sectors.
Are you directly over the power station?
You will be able to claim energy if you are simply near the power station, but you will receive the most energy by being directly over it.
Are all energy reserves empty?
If all energy reserves are empty, it may take a lot longer to get energy than if you had two reserves out of three full. If you need one to fill quickly, then lock off the ones you don't need. Now the one you need the most will fill up faster.
Has an enemy claimed your power station?
You need to monitor this constantly. Shoot it to reclaim it.
Do you have too many claimed power stations for the map to support?
If you have most of the map claimed but you still have a low energy intake rate, you may have too many power stations. Try to damage or destroy some of your extra power stations while you look at your energy efficiency rate gauge in the upper left.
