Player Latency
The player latency indicator, found to the left of each player's name in the matchmaking lobby, reflects the speed that information travels from that player's computer to the server. The lower the latency, the less time it takes a computer to communicate with the server. Each member's latency rate differs depending on their computer and ISP. The more segments of the indicator bar that are lit up, the faster the speed. See the color key below. The latency indicator periodically updates how quickly your computer communicates with the server. As a result, your latency rate may change while you are connected to the Zone.
The game latency indicator, found next to the game name in the main matchmaking window, is a measure of every player's speed relative to the game itself. Game latency will vary depending on the game and whether it relies on host-speed connection, server-speed connection, etc. The latency indicator will always measure the significant factor(s) of the game and provide a gauge of how satisfying it will be. |
