Tanarus Rankings
MSN Gaming Zone players expect the best in score and rankings information. We won't let you down, but you'll have to wait a bit longer for our usual royal treatment. Meanwhile, here's the best way to find out who's top dog.

Score

You score by killing enemy tanks, capturing flags and recon stations, and performing other acts of mayhem. Enemies with the biggest bounty values give you the most points, but watch out -- there's a reason they're worth so much!

The easiest way to find out who's the cream of the crop is to watch the ticker in the Tanarus game rooms here on the Zone. Before you launch Tanarus, take a look at the top players.

After you launch Tanarus and are in the Command Center, you can see anyone's score by right-clicking their name. You can also click the Top Players or Top Teams button in the Command Center.

The better your score, the higher your rank, which gives you respect, reputation, and the ability to start your own teams or enter advanced arenas. Here's the breakdown:

    Rank Points       Needed (total score)
  Newbie     Start Rank
  Private     250,000
  Private First Class     500,000
  Lance Corporal     1,000,000
  Corporal     2,000,000
  Sergeant     3,000,000
  Staff Sergeant     5,000,000
  Gunnery Sergeant     7,500,000
  Master Sergeant     10,000,000
  First Sergeant     15,000,000
  Master Gunnery Sergeant     20,000,000
  Sergeant Major     25,000,000
  Second Lieutenant     32,500,000
  First Lieutenant     40,000,000
  Captain     50,000,000

Kill Ratio

This is simply the number of times you've killed another tank, divided by the number of times you've been killed. It's not everything -- you can be a great, gutsy player with a low ratio or a not-so-skilled newbie-bagger with a high ratio -- but it's another measuring stick.

As with score, you can see the kill ratio of players in Tanarus by right-clicking their names in the Command Center.

Teams

The Zone will be rolling in a Zone-wide system for persistent teams, and it will be unlike anything you've ever seen. Meanwhile, Tanarus has its own internal team system. To join a Tanarus team, check Help for more information, or ask around in Tanarus chat.

Tournaments

Whoa, are you sure? It may be a while before you're ready to hit the tournament ladder. Tanarus has got a hot core of veteran players who thrash it out on the big board, and you'd best warm up before entering that ring. But if you're the curious sort, check our News section for articles on the 989 Studios Tournament system.
